Gary is survived by his wife, Penny Arterburn Reeder of the home 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Jeremy Dale and Sara Reeder of Vernon, TX and Timothy Howard and Amy Reeder of Lone Grove, Ok. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandkids, playing golf, and watching Oklahoma State University sports. Gary was a member of the First Baptist Church of Savanna where he was active as the music director, something he thoroughly enjoyed. Gary and Penny Arterburn were married on May 21, 1976. He would soon become Principal and then Superintendent of Savanna Schools, where he was currently serving. He came to Savanna Schools in 1992 as a math teacher and coach, coaching baseball and football. After graduating high school he received his Master’s of Education Degree from Southeastern State University. Gary Reeder was born on Septemin McAlester to Howard Franklin and Iris Aline (Birdwell) Reeder. The family asks, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the Savanna Athletic Department in Gary’s honor. Honorary pallbearers are Guy Duerson, Jason Barnett, Brian Brown, James Bond, John Truesdall, Gary Wood, Darrell Wilson, Vaughn Blankenship, Jason Wadley, Jason Nolan, Dexter Spence, Lonnie Burks, Charlie Rogers, and Duane Meadows. Pallbearers are Jason Williams, Adrian Cowling, Jeremy Moore, Brandon Reeder, Luke Wood, Taylor McBane, Trevor McBane, Tucker McBane and Redick Blankenship. at the Savanna Multi-use/cafeteria building, with Kyle Cummings and Perry Cox officiating. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 23, at 10:00 a.m. Visitation times will be Thursday and Friday. Gary Franklin Reeder, 66, of Savanna, passed away Tuesday, January 19, at his home is Savanna.
